Bryanston's first apartment building launch

The Hub on Bryanston Drive will be home to Bryanston’s first residential apartment building. This northern Johannesburg suburb has always been sought after and, over the years, has retained its appeal, seen solid increases in its property values, and now appeals to both residential and commercial property investors.

Renprop Commercial grows despite market forces

During the past five years the South African commercial property market has been in the doldrums. This is according to Mike Walters, Divisional Head of Renprop Commercial. “Although we did not reach the same lows that Europe and the US did in 2008, we have also not seen the same level of recovery as the US is currently seeing,” he says.

On a macro level, Southern Africa is still attracting multinational investment as a launch pad for the continent. But, says Walters, it’s anyone’s guess as to how long will this last now that Nigeria has taken over the top position.

Demand is outstripping supply in Residential Property Sales

On average, 30% of residential properties in Gauteng’s northern suburbs which are listed on the Renprop Residential Sales Division’s books are sold before they are even advertised. In March, this new division within the Renprop group sold six properties in just as many days. Debbie Justus, manager of Renprop Residential Sales which is focusing on the Gauteng market, attributes this success mostly to the large database of buyers that her division has on their books.
